Rucu [ルク] ほとけクリエイター

仏像を愛し、仏像とともに生きる11歳。2歳のとき、京都・三十三間堂で千体の仏像に出会い、その圧倒的な数と美しさ、やさしい表情に心を奪われる。「仏像は僕のヒーロー！」——そう確信した瞬間から、全国の寺院や仏像展を巡る「仏活」が始まった。

4歳で初めて写仏に挑戦し、10歳からは毎日一体の仏さまを描く「一日一仏」にチャレンジ。1日も欠かさず描き続け、365日を達成。

そして今、コンセプトは「心に花さく仏さま」へ。描くスピードではなく、心に咲くやさしさを大切に、そのときどきに出会った仏さまを、ゆっくり、ていねいに描いている。

黄色の螺髪キャップをトレードマークに、仏像の魅力を求めて旅をしながら、仏画やオリジナルグッズを制作・販売。唯一無二の感性から生み出される、現代的でファッショナブルなほとけの世界——　そのあたたかな輝きを、ぜひご覧ください。

Rucu – Buddha Creator

An 11-year-old who lives with and loves Buddha statues.At the age of 2, Rucu encountered a thousand Buddha statues at Sanjusangendo Temple in Kyoto.Captivated by their overwhelming presence, graceful beauty, and gentle expressions, he found his heroes in the Buddhas.From that moment, his “Butsukatsu” — journeys visiting temples and Buddha exhibitions across Japan — began.

At age 4, Rucu started tracing Buddha images (shabutsu),and at 10, he challenged himself to draw one Buddha every day through his “One Buddha a Day” project,successfully completing 365 days without missing a single day.

Now, his concept has evolved into “Buddhas that Bloom in the Heart.”Rather than focusing on speed, Rucu draws each Buddha slowly and mindfully,cherishing the gentle kindness that blooms within the heart.

Wearing his trademark yellow rahatsu (spiral hair) cap,he continues to travel in search of inspiring Buddhas,while creating and selling original Buddhist artwork and goods.

From his unique sensibility emerges a fashionable, modern world of Buddhas — a warm and radiant light that invites you to experience it for yourself.

History

2歳 | Age 2
京都知恩院に宿泊し翌日三十三間堂へ。仏像がヒーローになった。
Visited Sanjūsangendō in Kyoto.the day Buddhist statues became my heroes.
3歳 | Age 3
島根県正福寺へ。水木しげるさんが影響を受けた地獄極楽絵図の極楽浄土を見に。
Visited Shōfuku-ji Temple in Shimane to see the "Gokuraku Jōdo" from the Hell and Paradise Scrolls, which inspired Shigeru Mizuki.

　
3歳 | Age 3
仏像がヒーロー！書籍やフィギュア、グッズを集め始める。
Buddhist statues became my heroes! Started collecting books, figures, and merchandise.
3歳 | Age 3
「大仏が見たい！」と鎌倉大仏へ。しかし「これじゃない」と一言…
Wanted to see a Great Buddha, so we visited Kamakura Daibutsu—but was told, "This isn’t it."

3歳 | Age 3
見たい大仏を求め奈良・東大寺へ。「これが見たかった！」と大満足✨
Traveled to Tōdai-ji in Nara to find the Great Buddha. "This is what I wanted to see!"
4歳 | Age 4
誕生日に友達から田中ひろみさんの写仏本をもらい、写仏を始める。
Received a Shabutsu (Buddha tracing) book by Hiromi Tanaka for my birthday and started Shabutsu.
5歳 | Age 5
タイへ仏像の旅。自然と仏像が一体となるワット・マハタートの仏頭を見に。
Traveled to Thailand to see the mystical Buddha head at Wat Mahathat, where nature and Buddha become one.
10歳 | Age 10
10歳で毎日一体の仏さまを描く「一日一仏」に挑戦し、365日を達成！現在は「心に花さく仏さま」をテーマに、ぼくらしく描き続けています。
At age 10, I started “One Buddha a Day” and completed 365 days!
Now, I continue drawing with my new theme, “Buddhas that Bloom in the Heart.”
